Friends...

On the weekend we had Em and Wog over for dinner - our first dinner party at our new place! It was really great to catch up with those guys, we hope to see them a couple more times before they leave.

We also had lunch with Steve and Karin, who put on a great spread (once again!!). We've caught up with them quite a few times since being here, and are really enjoying seeing them on a regular basis!

Washington D.C.

We had a great time in D.C. Kym and Bron were great hosts, and it was great to catch up with them. We managed to explore quite a lot in the few days we were there: Arlington Cemetary; the White House and the Capitol; the memorials in the Mall; and a couple of Smithsonians. At Arlington, we saw the changing of the guard at the grave of the Unknown Soldier. Interestingly, after every war they have a ceremony to choose the unknown soldier from numerous unknown war victims.

The Grand Canyon

A truly amazing place! We spent a couple of days walking around the south rim. Highlights included the sunset, seeing condors and dinner at one of the original lodges (complete with antelope and deer heads on the wall!). It's really hard to say much more - hopefully the photos speak for themselves.
