Aunt and uncle again!

My brother and his wife had a baby girl, Tess Sophia, on the 9th of June. Here are a few pics!

Yes, well...um..

There are really no excuses for the lack of effort we've been putting into our blog lately. It is simply a result of too much work too little play, or too little time to talk about the little play we've actually had. But, now I've finished 2 exams and am procrastinating, so can fill you in on what's been going on here in London town.

Our most exciting event since last writing was going to Paris to catch up with my parents. We went over for a long weekend, and had a great time eating good food, drinking (and buying!!) wine, and generally soaking up the true parisian atmosphere. The weather was spectacular, sunny, 26 degree days (which really is spectacular when you live in London), and Paris was beautiful. We went to the Musee D'Orsay, spent a day in Chartres, and wandered around Montmatre. Of course, mum and I managed to fit in a little bit of clothes shopping, and we dragged Nick and dad around the shops for an afternoon (needless to say they loved it!). All in all, we had a fabulous time, with the exception of getting home to discover that our camera wasn't working, and none of our photos had turned out!

Mum and dad came over to London the following weekend, and we took them on our "grand tour" (all the major sights of london - a 3 hr round trip from our place), as well as on a trip to Greenwich, which was a first time for us as well.

We've had a couple of other visitors over the past month or so. Sarah came to London for some wine expo, and I spent the day with her when she got off the plane from Oz. We saw part of the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace which I've never seen before! And Ange (friend from Melbourne uni) came for a night, and has now settled in London, so our frinds continue to multiply!

As for other exciting events, well there hasn't been much (unless I bore you with the detail of my study!). I did drag Nick off to the Royal Ballet at Covent Garden a couple of weeks ago, where he proceeded to fall asleep during the first act! It was the first time that either of us had seen a full classical ballet, and I have to say I'm not sure whether it's really my thing, but we saw swan lake and some of the movement was stunning.

My other news is that I've organised myself a job for 6 weeks or so inbetween finishing exams and travelling. I'm going to be doing some research work on immigration (yes, it seems to be one of my continuing themes!) at the Centre for Economic Performance at LSE.

Anyway, hope everyone is well. Now that exams are almost over, I hope to be posting info more regularly!
