All OK

Given recent attacks in London, just wanted to let everyone know that Nick and I are fine. We live quite close to some of the bomb sites, and things have been pretty crazy here this morning, but neither of us were involved. Cam is also OK for those worried.

De-creasing Tour of Dublin

On the weekend, I went to Dublin with my hockey team for our end-of-season tour (called de-creasing in honour of one of our players, Jen Crease, who is getting married in September and changing her name). It was a great weekend, we played 4 hockey matches, visited numerous Dublin pubs, as well as seeing a little of the city. We were all given tour names, mine being O'Shaunessey-McNamee-McNamara.

My tour profile was as follows:
"Ozzie wannabe posh bird - dig the double barrelled name. Consistent and effective midfielder who is happy on both sides (N.B. of the pitch). Most likely to teach other tourists Australian club hockey songs (which are exceptionally difficult as they have more than one line), be the 'quiet one' until numerous pints of Guinness are consumed. After that...who knows".

And some tour rules:
-Tourists must carry a shamrock, a vial of Guinness and a small potato at all times
-Tourists must ensure that their first and last drinks of the day are alcoholic
-Goal scorers must perform a "Riverdance" before returning to the half-way line.

I didn't get to see much of the city, but plan to go back and explore Ireland much more.

Day in Oxford

A couple of weekends ago, Nick and I headed up to Oxford to see Ben McLean. We had a great day, wandering around the colleges (including the one we would have been at!), lunching at the boathouse and punting on the canal.
