Back to the real world
Well, Nick and I arrived back from the second leg of our European vacation on Sunday, a little worse for wear following 5 hours at the Oktoberfest! We started both work and uni yesterday, and are gradually getting back into the swing of London again. It is actually good to be home, as much as we loved travelling, we missed little things like being able to cook dinner, sleeping in a double bed and having our own bathroom.
The highlights of this part of our trip include:
- Tasting Mouton Rothschild in Bordeaux;
- Experiencing part of vintage at Vieux Chateau Certain, and tasting the wine, complete with me spilling a glass all over myself!;
- Singing dirty dancing with Steve and Karin!;
- Tapas in San Sebastian;
- The Guggenheim in Bilboa, particularly the modern sculpture by Richard Serra;
- Our entire time spent in Barcelona (especially the human castles, Miro, Ben Lee in concert and the fire parade (totally nuts!));
- Lousie and York, Pergamon museum, Schnitzel, currywurst and beer, the Jewish Museum and the Jewish memorial in Berlin;
- Oktoberfest in Munich (complete with white sausage and lots of singing and dancing!)
Hope this gives you a flavour of what we've done.
I'm sure Nick will have a lot more to say, but most probably with a significant delay!
Hope everyone is well,
Laura
